What Is Anomal?
Who? Where? When?
Anomal is deviating from the regular order, form or rule.
Known to be or seeming to be inconsistent, contradictory and/or improper.
Behind the pseudonym you can find an artist from Bergen, Norway. Or at least almost. The artist wishes to stay anonymous to prevent the conflation of his/her public persona with the art and the subjects touched. Sometimes the art is not made to please people, rather to provoke feelings or focus to something. Using strong expressions and extremes to direct thought to the cognitive dissonance we experience in our daily life.
Mainly doing street art with stencils in public spots, but can also be seen with spray, pens and brushes. The artist has an appetite for most forms for art and will hopefully continue to experiment and test different styles around the artwork in the years to come. The first works signed with Anomal is dated 2021, when the artist first decided to get more serious with the art. Earlier vandalism/art from the youth years started back in the mid 2000’s, and for several years there was always one or more pens in her pockets when walking the streets. There was many years the artist was completely inactive, but a former love for the street has clearly played a role in shaping the artistic view on the world, together with the inspiration and influence of known street artists like, Banksy, Pøbel, and AFK.
